When others see me they hopefully see someone who is a follower of Christ and a light in the dark world, above reproach in the midst of a crooked generation. He has heard there was some kind of opposition in Philippi,  he encourages them to stand firm, not be frightened like a stampede of horses. In Christ's name. Unless there is a quality of life that can be explained only in terms of God there is nothing to challenge the world around. After all, life does not stop for anyone.

We have that mind, he says, now just make use of it. In other words, human life was designed for God.
